Brittany and her husband feel so blessed to have four children who inspire her to fight to protect all children.

Brittany's presentation was the last webinar in the 2022 Parent Empowerment Speaker Series. She guides parents in dealing with the very real challenges of raising children in a digital world. It is becoming more and more difficult to protect children from the traumatizing adult content found online. Exposure to this material can lead to abuse, addictions, acting out, and more. Since protection begins with education, Brittany offers information and resources parents can incorporate into their families to empower their kids to make safe choices online. The tools she gives in this presentation apply to any technology parents are trying to protect their kids from: inappropriate content, compulsive gaming, predators, unhealthy social media, cyberbullying, threats to mental health, substance abuse, etc.

During her presentation, Brittany shares the following resources:

Mastering Technology through "Just a S.E.C." - printable download

Better Screen Time - "Is my child ready for a smartphone?"

Protect Young Eyes - Get help with routers, filters, parental controls

White Ribbon Week - elementary digital citizenship program

Good Pictures, Bad Pictures - books to help arm kids against pornography
